Carter Wind Turbine Installation
Two complete Model 300 units loaded on single truck and trailer rig. The four tower sections are loaded on either side with the blades located in the middle (blades cannot be seen). Note how the nacelle and upper tower section are carried.
Note the steerable dolly trailer attached to the tower near the nacelle.
Unit in Texas being raised. Note how the gin pole provided the mechanical advantage coupled with a multiple sheeve pulley block so that the unit can be raised with a 4500 lb pull. In this case the unit is being raised with a vehicle. Also note the side cables which guide and stabilize the tower as it is lowered so that it will rest on the tower stand as shown.
