Carter Wind Energy LLC (CWE) is a privately held company reorganized in 2001 by Jay Carter Jr. and Matt Carter.

CWE's plan back to market begins with developing a 100MW portfolio of high value Community based projects coupled with lower project costs inherent to the Carter turbine technology. This will generate high rates of return to project investors. High returns attract the project investment needed to secure deposits. Deposits demonstrate market interest which in turn generates the investment in the manufacturing and vendor interest/support.

Our plan is a two pronged diversified investment approach:

  1. Wind farm project development debt/equity investment followed by;
  2. Turbine manufacturing/technology equity investment

Plan is predicated on utilizing an existing product previously manufactured as a way to reduce development risk and expedite time to market. This plan is feasible because of the maturity level in the technology and a history in the industry that includes over 800 turbines built/installed.

  1. Wind Farm project development and financing investment

    • Develop 100mW portfolio of "Smaller, Faster, Cheaper" Distributed Generation wind projects.
      • Projects to be developed to finance stage
      • Developed project includes: site control, wind assessment, utility interconnection agreement, permitting, and wholesale power sales contract.
      • Projects become a tangible asset with value

    • Attract wind farm project equity and debt financing by developing high value projects and leveraging the lower turbine & project costs inherent with the Carter turbine technology.
      • Provide project investors with unmatched rates of return (15-35%).

    • Secure project financing commitments in the form of turbine sales deposits.
      • Deposits will amount to 5-10% of total project costs which,
        • Secures project sites, turbines sales, and deal structure
      • Escrowed deposits will be released upon project installation.
      • Financing commitment tied to CWE turbine performance milestones.

  2. Turbine manufacturing/technology investment

    • Secure equity investment in manufacturing/technology company
    • Turbine deposits demonstrate market desire for Carter turbines making the manufacturing/turbine technology equity investment easier/quicker to secure
    • Turbine deposits attract vendors
    • Large order commitments provide vendors confidence to amortize tooling and production development costs beyond current order commitments resulting in lower turbine costs
